holy crap! I couldn’t knit something like this flat, let alone around a tree.
This weekend (August 4,5) at the CCCA in Ottawa, help artist Janet Morton create a garden using textiles, knitting and other non-traditional materials.

I think those used to be at the Toronto zoo back in, say, 2003, and while still awe inspiring to behold, there was a placard that mentioned they were made from pieces of old antique doilies she had procured… so probably a mixture of knitting and joining already existing fabrics, both ancient and new, took place here…
